I got some picture in my head when I was looking at your foto and read something about no ranks, shoulderboards etc., I have a nice picture from our czech friends, the commander himself only in camojackett and rankpatch for specialclothing on it, typical for SS, just imagine this pic in black and white, it would look fantastic....

I could be wrong but I think the collar tabs on Gadges' tunic are the ones that came with it from Spearhead. I've got a spare set somewhere if you want them Peter, I can send them to you with my soldbuch information.
When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!
Hi and Cheers Heide, you are sure? Thats from Barry? He have BEVO?? Nice to know, if you would do so, would be nice, just tell me what you get for them.
Ehre, Treue Vaterland!!! "NON SOLI CEDIT"
Heides right, they are the set that come with the tunic. I think i paid £70 for tunic, dot tunic and insignia and postage. I order a lot from Barry and he always seems to give me great value and stupidly fast delivery times (i got this set in about a week!)
I cut the shoulder board buttons off the dot uniform, i wanted that 'hurried replacement uniform' look.
"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
With regards to rank I'm sure i've read that *only* the arm eagle and the tactical rank patchs were authorised for wear with this uniform. It wasnt supposed to even have shoulder straps but it was done by some, same as you see some original examples with combat awards on... personally i think its looks better left blank.
Some didnt even reach the troops with arm eagles, I've gone for that option.
Under the dot jacket the insignia is pretty minimal, hohenstufen cuff title, sleeve eagle and oberscutze star.
No awards, no medals nothing else...
classic example here, four guys from the 9th ss not one has shoulder straps or bling although all visible left arms have a sleeve eagle.

They have 44 cut uniforms, but doesnt matter, I have here the complete orders from the "SS Hauptamt - Haushalt und Bauten" which was the final authority for the SS to say how to wear what, you are absolutely right, that on the dot uniform should not be worn something else then national symbol and camo rank patch. "BUT" that is what the SS was famous for, you will find everywhere pics with shoulderboards, EK ribbons, or EK1 and dont forgett, if it was a Knights Cross Holder, they had the final decision from the Chief (A.H.) himself, that they can leave the collar buttons open to show the award....
, But in Germany an very close cooperating company with us offers the complete SS 44 uniform set for arround 98Euro. I will just leave for a few seconds and post the link. And, we couldnt get those stuff from Barry to Germany like this, our law forbidds to import that kind of insignias
, they only pimp the right wing guys and the black market with this, nothing else. A strong and real democracy doesnt need to bann any symbol and in our case, like I wrote, they support with this law the idiots....

You can have them for nothing. You are helping and supporting us a lot and I'll be happy to give a little back in return. The Waffen SS should stick together, don't forget that "loyalty is my honour"!

They have 44 cut uniforms, but doesnt matter,
I was under the impression only one pattern of infantry camouflage suit was ever issued in this pattern.
Issued march 44 and withdrawn november 44 as it got wrecked too easily.

No, the dot pattern came up 1943 first time, you can ask sgt. Heide, he have a excellent book, SS Camo Uniforms in colour" , there are the different versions, 43 and 44 in the book. But there exist also some versions, that looks like M40 summer HBT uniform, it was mostly made by the Divisions themselfs for the uniforms, you will find pics of Panzermeyer or sepp Dietrich with this for example.......

Heide and i have this book already - we will be taking it to the KGSS meet, so folks can have a look. I have some other SS reference books, which i'll be taking as well
and it seems to me, you are a fashion victim, you can tell everybody you wear HUGO BOSS ORIGINAL
Hugo Boss manufactured uniforms for the Schutzstaffel (SS).[14] Christian Dior spent much of World War II making dresses for the wives of German officers, although he had fought for France until the occupation of Paris.[citation needed] Coco Chanel had an affair with a Nazi officer, and is believed to have had sympathies.[citation needed] Kenny Howard, the posthumous namesake of trendy clothing manufacturer Von Dutch, declared himself to be a Nazi, and was often seen wearing a shirt emblazoned with a Swastika and the words "We lost".[citation needed] Some have said that this was part of Von Dutch's offensive humor.[citation needed]

I have also a german version of a perfect book for this hobby which helps a lot, because there are all orders when they was given, what was allowed to wear and what and how....
the english version is called: "Uniforms of the SS" Vol.6 from Andrew Mollo, puplished from Windrow & Greene Ltd. London

@JD7 may you can better translate the difference between 43 and 44 dot, you should find it in the book....
Ehre, Treue Vaterland!!! "NON SOLI CEDIT"
Apparently, according to my reference books, the 1943 version of the dot pattern was printed on drill (spun rayon and flax mostly) material and had more of an ochre colour to it. The 1944 version used cheaper herringbone twill and was more pink in hue due to cheaper inks used in the printing process (combined with the very high rayon content of the cloth, which took the dyes poorly). The earlier tunics had scalloped pockets as well and was cut like the M1943 uniform, whereas the 1944 version had straight pockets.
